How to be a Good Business Manager…

Posted in Business by Gustav S on the March 31st, 2008

As crazy as it might sound the difference between a Good Business Manager and a Bad Business Manager is in the art of delegation. It is the ability to delegate which separate them.

Delegation is the process of building up people, then letting go of a responsibility. This sound quite easy but it is not. You have to struggle with your own personality and the personality of your subordinates. It is quite difficult to let go of a responsibility and for many the feeling that it might not be correctly executed makes it even harder.

Most of us are afraid that if we give up a task or a responsibility we will be perceived as being less essential to the company.

It takes a very confident person to be a great Business Manager, confidence in the people who work for you and enough confidence in yourself to overcome your ego problems.

The Business Manager must understand that the process of delegation is like leveraging your time doing less “important” tasks that can be perfectly made by any of your employees while giving you the time and freedom to concentrate in your Business expansion by exploring and opening new ways to make your Business more profitable.

Again, the major limitation of any team or group of working people is the people themselves. And perhaps the holy grail to make great things happen in your Business is to help the people grow internally which will result in profits.
