How important is to keep track of your Life? Merry Xmas
Again, we are just about to finish another year, another year of life which for many of us just passed in a blink of an eye.
It is a tradition for many of us to look back at the end of the year and see what did we achieve and what not. Many of us do not find useful or do not even care to remember what happened during a year of life, maybe in a scare to see that you just wasted another year or maybe because you are just too lazy to grow yourself by retrospective.
Before I go into detail I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year 2008, it is my wish that everyone of you enjoy a great life and look to expand your own consciousness in order to achieve more and be able to enjoy a better life.
I think this post is very important and key because there is only one way to succeed in life and it requires hard work on your part, not the typical hard work go find a job, but hard work in order to refine your talents and strength your weaknesses. For that I would like to present you what I do with myself during a year every year in order to track my Life and to be able to better assess my growth:
Know Yourself , Create the Chart of your Life:
You must have knowledge to succeed. You must know what to expect from your life. Above all, you must know yourself. That is an important part of the knowledge you need to have.
Knowledge comes through observation and experimentation. It comes through reading and studying. It comes through your senses.
What is your character? Can you tell me? You need it to be successful in life.
Character is so important that you have to be persistent and diligent in developing it. There is no room for slop in life.
A while ago I read about a way to keep track of your own Life and see if things are improving or not, before I keep explaining lets see a chart:

That is what is called a Life Index, a composite of many different aspects of your life like:
Business Life
Physical Life
Relationships
Emotional Life
Spiritual Life
from which every day you will be giving values and from them you will be able to develop a chart which encompasses all those aspects.
Interesting isn’t it? I will go into detail on how to create your own on another post next year.
But for now, lets Analize my graphic for the year 2007:
The chart presented represent my Life index for the year 2007, It runs from January 1st 2007, up to December 21st 2007.
It is simply represented in a X, Y plane. The Y axis represents GROWTH, the more your are going up the more growth you are having and if it is going down then you are probably having some issues in some aspects of your life which are affecting your growth. If the chart is kind of stagnated in a range then you might be in a process of learning, discovery, struggling with some issues and trying to overcome some barriers that with effort will result in a breakout to the upside.
The X axis is just Time.
As you can see from my Life Chart, it seems that most of the year I was in some sort of struggle or a period of consolidation, in my case most of this year was a period of new ideas, new projects, life restructuration all in order to achieve a goal I wish to fulfill not only for year 2008 but for the rest of my life.
Normally when you are putting a lot of time and effort in learning new things, develop new projects or simply working hard to put something in motion your Life index might look like the first 3/4 of mine. There is a lot of frustration, undisciplined moments, lack of confidence, loss of trust, during these periods.
But, Look at what happened after so much hard work. There was an explotion to the upside, goals started to be achieved, confidence, emotions, happiness all came together thanks to the efforts I made. I started to see the fruits of my hard work, the wheel was put in motion, YEAAAHHH!!!! kind of moments started to show, recognition in business life, an extreme pleasant life with my wife, her own achieved goals boasted my happiness and all kind of positive events that just pushed my life index forward.
What happens after such Wonderful Growth Period?
Consolidation or another narrow Range MIGHT happen, it is normal and it does not necessarily means that again you are struggling it just mean that you have reached enough GROWTH in order to sustain your actual emotions, business, relations etc. Actually, my year 2007 looks like this because of the goals I decided to set for this year. If you had a look at my 2006 Life Chart you would be able to see that there was an up surge which also ended during December 2006 and a consolidation started (the one showed in the chart).
What can be Learned from our own Life Charts?
First of all, no 2 Life charts will look the same. It is impossible. For many of you which are still very unstable in many areas of your life, it might look like a downtrending chart with some Lower highs or peaks during the downfall.
I have around 5 years of Life Indexes and I can learn a lot about them, for example, I can see that on the last 3 years I started a Rally upward in my life Chart, I can see that Every time I reach a higher point in my life chart I am able to do things that I would have considered out of my range last year. I can see that I tend to work hard early and reap the profits of my efforts latter in the year. I can see that my Mood is more stable during Summers but I work hard and with more desire during the Winters.
I was able to spot Character and Personality issues from the charts, things that I needed to change in order to make my life a better life. I discovered that giving my money away in form of gifts and donations made my Business Life rose to new highs.
This is just a couple of the things that I can see from my own Life Charts. I am sure that when you start your own, if you have enough will power and dedication to take 5 minutes of your life every day at night in order to fill a simple form then you will be able to reap some great profits too.
