To support what you are saying he describes the priniciple of 'reciprocation' and how this establisheses trust and facilitates a virtuous circle of knowledge sharing. This idea of collaboration is a key aspect of the Organisational Learning literature, although as you were told when you were a kid, all of this should come with a health warning as their are unscrupulous 'takers' as well as 'givers' in this world.
