7 Stupid things that people will tell you that THEY Consider Advice

Posted in Key Ingredients for Success, Motivation for Success by Gustav S on the September 13th, 2007

Are you waiting for someone to tell you that you are capable to achieve whatever you wish with your brain?

Life is so interesting; we tend to just conform to what we are and never push ourselves to know how far we can go…

Society has conditioned us to believe that miracles do not exist, that everything that is not “normal” is impossible and that you will never be more than just a mere slave of the big economic machinery that this world has become.

People around you are just another Sheep and they are already brainwashed so they will always tell you stuff like:

1. Just do this as I tell you

2. DON’T THINK

3. Do not second guess what I say because I know I am right

4. It is impossible to achieve that

5. You are not prepared enough

6. If he/she did not make it then why do you think you will?

7. Do not learn such a useless skill that will not help!

Do you identify yourself with any of those comments above? , do you listen to such people and their advice? Then you are Brain Dead!

We are so used to follow other’s people advice that we tend to believe whatever other people say, I find myself many times believing what other people say without even noticing… HOW WRONG!!!! I do SLAP myself (literally) and wake myself up from this big brainwash we are all submerged in. You have no idea how much effort I put to make my brain think but the whole society makes you get everything processed and digested so we tend to not think anymore and take everything for granted…

I know a lot of people who got tamed by the system already, they just do what they are told to do, they are already defeated and no matter how much great advice you give to them they will just let it go, they have no lust to make the most of their life… they have just became machines.

I do remember when I was a kid I did develop a “contrarian attitude” , with that I mean that the more the people told me that I was not able to do this or that the more I thought I was able to do it and I would show them and the world that I was right… as a kid it was great… and it was a great self defense mechanism against society, but this is just a trick that will work at the beginning the real deal is to filter out all what people say and find out by yourself, analyze, understand make your own way to understanding and find your own proof that what other people say is true.

Please give some thought to the following:

1. Who said that we are all equal?

2. When people tell you that you will not make it because they did not, Do you know all the variables that made other people fail? Do you have the same discipline, attitude as the other people? Are you still a friend of such a person? (LOL :D)

3. Do people have made their own research and have proof about what they say in order to make their statement 100% valid?

4. Are you sharing the same EXPERIENCE as other people? Remember that your experiences are yours and I can guarantee you that no 2 experiences will be the same. Today I can live in a house that I believe is the most beautiful house in the whole world and with the best location ever and so on, but does that mean that it will be the same for you? Give me a break! So it is for EVERYTHING.

5. A great example that have always fascinated me was those of World Records, no one would believe something is possible until someone would make a Record on that, once the record is made then you will notice a trend of that record to be broken over and over again, the reason for that is that now that people saw that such “World Records” was possible to achieve then they automatically think that it is totally possible and maybe even break it, so their attention and will is fully maximized to achieve the goal of “breaking the World Record” and there you go,,, you have the desired result.

10 years ago you would have said that it is impossible to run 100 meters in 10 seconds…

For that reason, you need to always believe that EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

There is no need to wait for someone to achieve a feat or for a scientist to make a discovery about your brain to let you know what you already know and that is that everything is possible.

I would love to recommend the following blog and website from a Friend of mine, Alvaro Fernandez, who is really dedicated to help you achieve the “brain” you need to start being you…

Sharpbrains Blog

Take your time, enjoy and do not let this world make you their Pavlov’s Dog.

I would like you to help me make a larger list of the “Stupidest things that you have heard from other people as advice to you” for that use the comment form below… I would love to read and Laugh a little about it! :D

There are so many stupid things people have said to me about what I couldn’t do - like my mother saying “Oh you are not the artist, your brother is” - I have proved her wrong here!
